永遠懷念達安輝教授

香港醫學會前會董及名譽會員達安輝教授於2017年8月16日在瑪麗醫院安詳逝世，醫學會會董會全體成員深表哀悼。

達安輝教授一生奉獻給病人和香港的醫學發展。他畢業於香港大學醫學院；1965-68年期間加入醫學會會董會；1974-89年間擔任香港大學內科學系主任；1986年成立香港內科醫學院並任創院院長，致力保障香港醫生的醫學資格不受香港主權移交影響；1992年創立香港醫學專科學院及擔任創院主席，為本港的醫學專科培訓奠定基礎。1994年退休後任香港大學的榮休教授。近年生活低調，但仍十分關注回歸後政制及專業的穩定。

達安輝教授四十年來的醫學生涯中桃李春風，大部份超過二十年年資的醫生都曾受教於他，封他為「眾人的老師」實在當之無愧。

因他熱愛生命、關愛病人，所以用畢生時間投入醫學培訓工作；因他的先見之明、高瞻遠矚，確立了香港專科醫學水平和地位。達安輝教授一生為醫學界貢獻良多，我們將永遠懷念他，謹致上崇高敬意。並向達安輝教授家人致以最真摯的慰問。

In Loving Memory of Professor Sir David TODD

1928 – 2017

Members of the Council of the Hong Kong Medical Association (the HKMA) mourn with heavy heart the passing of Prof. Sir David TODD, former Council member and Honourary Member of the HKMA, peacefully on 16 August 2017 in Queen Mary Hospital.

Prof. TODD dedicated himself to the caring of patients and the medical development in Hong Kong.  Prof. TODD graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong.  He served as the HKMA Council Member during the period from 1965 to 1968.  He was Head of the Department of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong from 1974 to 1989.  He pioneered the founding of the Hong Kong College of Physicians in 1986 and served as the Founding President. He had done a great deal of liaison to ensure the validity of Hong Kong doctors’ professional qualification after the return of sovereignty to China.  Prof. TODD also served as the Founding President of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine from 1992 until 1996. He laid the groundwork for the local postgraduate medical specialist training.  He remained as an Emeritus Professor of the University of Hong Kong after his retirement in 1994.  Though enjoyed his quiet living, he still concerned about the stability of Hong Kong’s political environment and professional development.

Prof. TODD contributed enormously to medical education during his 40 years’ career.  He was commonly referred as the teacher of all doctors, since most medical students graduated in/before the 90’s had attended his classes and benefited from his teaching.

Owing to his passion for life and love for the patients, Prof. TODD gave his whole life to the training of doctors.  Attributing to his foresight, Hong Kong attained high medical standard and received international recognition.  The Council of the HKMA salutes his life and incredible achievements.  Prof. TODD will be remembered dearly by his students, colleagues and the medical profession. We extend our deepest condolences to his loved families.
