香港醫學會有關新冠肺炎社區感染個案的呼籲

香港醫學會對近日沙田出現新冠肺炎社區本地個案甚為關注，情況顯示社區中存有感染源頭，因此必須謹慎應對，切實執行各項防疫措施。我們感謝醫生會員無懼受疫症感染，繼續緊守崗位在社區私人診所為有需要的市民服務。由於社區內仍有病毒傳播風險，醫學會呼籲私家診所醫生要繼續佩戴合適的個人防護裝備，並要嚴格控制診所衛生情況。醫生同業亦須提高警覺，就算其病徵只屬輕微，亦應考慮建議病人接受病毒測試。

本會極關注有救護員在運送病人時感染新冠肺炎，事件正正說明前線醫護人員面對高工作風險，有關當局應盡快將新冠肺炎列作職業病處理。

Our concern over local COVID-19 cases

The HKMA is concerned over the local cases in Shatin recently.  It showed that there is still a source of infection in the community and we need to be vigilant with our infection control measures.  We are grateful to our colleagues in private clinics who continue to see their patients, despite the fact that the patients may be suffering from COVID-19.  We urge them to continue to use appropriate PPEs and maintain good hygiene in the clinics.  We should be aware of the COVID disease and we should do the COVID tests if there is a suspicion of the disease, even if the symptoms are mild.

The HKMA regretted that an ambulance staff was infected on transferring the patient to hospital.  This showed the frontline staff can be infected and the COVID-19 should be classified as Occupational disease.
